About us
Hello! We are Josefine and Kai – the founders of Schweden-Ferienhaus24 and your personal Sweden holiday experts. Our story begins in 2020, when we left Germany with our two children and a motorhome. Originally, we only wanted to travel for a year – time for us as a family, time to breathe, time for a new chapter.
But that one year turned into four years that completely changed our lives. It became a journey that shaped us like nothing else before – and became a turning point in our lives.
Our Swedish history
Our first stop on our world tour was Sweden – and even in those first few days, we sensed that this country had a special effect on us. The silence of the forests, the lake landscapes, the red wooden houses and the serenity of the people touched us deeply.
We continued our journey around the world, through Europe, the Balkans, Asia, Africa and many other regions. We lived in a motorhome for four years, constantly on the move, always together. This time brought us even closer together as a family. Encountering different cultures, people and ways of life changed and enriched us, and sharpened our focus on what is truly important. Our relationship with our children became more intense, freer and more conscious – we learned to live in the moment and to make each day new.
On this trip, we also realised many projects close to our hearts:
We have written and published our own book.
We have supported an organisation in Romania that assists children in difficult situations.
We have built the largest German-speaking community for travelling parents.
We have continued our education – including training as a Business Management Consultant, coaching training, and mediation training.
But no matter how far we travelled, Sweden always remained in our hearts. And when we set foot on Swedish soil again after four years, we knew immediately:

In November 2023, we fulfilled a dream and bought a house in Småland, a region that combines tranquillity, nature, proximity and the Scandinavian lifestyle for us. It wasn’t just a move – it was the feeling of finally having arrived.
Our professional roots – expertise that builds trust
Our professional background also plays a major role in what we do today:
Kai successfully led a medium-sized company through growth, digitalisation and change processes for over twelve years. His expertise in entrepreneurship, marketing, web design and process optimisation now flows into every rental and every strategy at Schweden-Ferienhaus24.
Josefine was the branch manager of a large German drugstore chain for more than twelve years. Her work with people, combined with her coaching and mediation training, now forms the heart of our guest services and owner communications – empathetic, solution-oriented and always approachable.
This combination of experience, professionalism and knowledge of human nature forms the foundation of our work today.
Our experience with holiday homes – gained through travel, work and passion
Even before our world trip, we had lived in dozens of holiday homes, cabins and private accommodations around the world. This variety of experiences taught us what guests really look for:

Armed with this knowledge, we founded our first Swedish company in 2024: Holidayhomecare Småland. Within a short period of time, we were managing over 50 holiday homes – including guest communication, emergency services, property maintenance and rental support. This work gave us deep insights into the holiday home industry in Sweden – and into the needs of guests and owners.
Sweden-Ferienhaus24 – our platform for your holiday in Sweden
In November 2024, Schweden-Ferienhaus24 was finally created – our own booking platform for lovingly selected holiday homes in Sweden. Here we bring together everything that defines us:

Emigration to Sweden
After four years travelling around the world, we moved permanently to Sweden in 2023. The peace and quiet, nature and special quality of life here made it easy for us to embark on a new chapter in our lives.
Establishment of Holidayhomecare
In May 2024, we founded Holidayhomecare to support holiday home owners in Sweden with a comprehensive all-round service – from administration to guest care.
Go Live Sweden Holiday Home 24
In October 2024, we decided to develop our own platform for the holiday homes we manage. Sweden-Ferienhaus24 was created as a central location for bookings in Sweden.
20 houses on our platform
In November 2024, we achieved our first major goal: 20 holiday homes on our platform. A milestone that shows we are on the right track for guests and owners alike.
System successfully started
At the end of November, we launched a new all-in-one solution for holiday home rentals. The application creates transparency for owners, guests and employees, simplifies processes and improves holiday home occupancy rates.
Re-launch Sweden-Holiday-Home24
In December 2024, we completely redesigned our website – with a modern design and a significantly simplified booking process for our guests.
50 houses on our platform
In March 2025, we reached another important milestone: 50 holiday homes are now available on our platform. This progress encourages us to continue on our path.
Superhost 2025 / Airbnb
In July 2025, Airbnb awarded us Superhost status – with an average rating of 5.0 stars. This recognition motivates us to continue providing guests with exceptional stays.
100 houses on our platform
In November 2025, we celebrated a significant milestone: more than 100 holiday homes are now part of our platform. This growth encourages us to continue on our path.
