Holiday Home Sol Pippi – Family Holiday on a Gård on Öland

Depending on the season, the Gård is home to animals such as sheep, chickens, rabbits, pigs, a pony, a dog and bees. There is also a playground, sandbox, swing and trampoline. A table tennis table provides additional entertainment for both children and adults.

During the summer months, the farm experience is complemented by a family programme. Activities may include animal rounds, pony riding, egg hunts or campfire evenings. Which animals and activities are available depends on the season and weather. Because several families often spend their holidays on the Gård at the same time, children usually find playmates very quickly.

Holiday Home Sol Pippi is located slightly away from the main farm area at the edge of a small woodland. The holiday homes are around 200 metres from the other farm buildings and are set with generous spacing between them. This means you can enjoy a peaceful setting while still being close to the animals, play areas and shared farm life.

With around 45 m² of living space, the house accommodates up to four guests plus a baby. Built in 2010, the holiday home is furnished in a Scandinavian style. The walls and floors are mainly made of wood, while the whitewashed walls create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. In the living area, the ceiling is open up to the roof, giving the compact house a pleasantly spacious feeling.

The separate bedroom has a double bed made up of two standard beds, each measuring 90 x 200 cm. Two additional sleeping spaces are located in the sleeping loft, where there are also two single beds measuring 90 x 200 cm each.

The open living area offers a sofa, armchairs and a dining table with four chairs. There is deliberately no television and no Wi-Fi on the Gård. Instead, the focus is on spending time together, enjoying the farm, being outdoors and making the most of the many activities around the property.

The open-plan kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. Facilities include a four-zone ceramic hob, oven, refrigerator, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.

The bathroom has a shower and toilet. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for shared use in the laundry room of the manor house.

Families with small children are also well catered for. A baby cot and high chair are available in the holiday home.

A heat pump keeps the house comfortably warm on cooler days and can also be used for cooling during hot summer weather.

The holiday homes are intentionally located in a car-free area beside the small woodland. Cars cannot be driven directly to the houses in order to protect the sensitive vegetation, including a local orchid species. At the same time, the car-free setting creates additional peace and makes the area especially pleasant for families with children. From the parking area by the farm shop, the house can be reached within a few minutes on foot. A luggage trolley is available for transporting suitcases and bags.

One of the special attractions on the Gård is the tree houses. One of them even contains a sauna, which is available to farm guests for a small fee. It is a unique place to relax after a day at the beach or exploring the island.

One of Öland’s beautiful sandy beaches is only around 1.5 kilometres from the Gård. Bicycles can be rented directly on the farm and are ideal for trips to the beach as well as exploring the area around Köpingsvik and Borgholm.

There is also a farm shop directly on the property. The Gård is German-speaking, so German-speaking hosts are available on site during your stay.

The location is also excellent for exploring Öland. Borgholm is only a few kilometres away. Borgholm Castle, Solliden Palace and the Himmelsberga open-air museum are all within easy reach. Other popular destinations on Öland include the long sandy beaches of Böda, Trollskogen in the north, the sea stacks of Byrum and the UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Stora Alvaret.

One pet is welcome in Holiday Home Sol Pippi. The house is non-smoking. Final cleaning is taken care of. Bed linen and towel packages can be booked optionally. Electricity is charged according to actual consumption.

Holiday Home Sol Pippi combines the peace of a small Swedish holiday home at the edge of the woods with the special experience of a family-friendly Gård.
