Loft 2 – Family-Friendly Holiday Apartment on a Gård on Öland

For families in particular, this creates a special holiday atmosphere with plenty of freedom, community and experiences right outside the door.

Depending on the season, the Gård is home to animals such as sheep, chickens, rabbits, pigs, a pony, a dog and bees. There is also a playground, sandbox, swing and trampoline. During the summer months, the farm experience is complemented by a family programme. Activities may include animal rounds, pony riding, egg hunts or campfire evenings. Which animals and activities are available depends on the season and weather.

With around 100 m² of living space, the loft offers plenty of room for up to four guests. Two separate bedrooms adjoin the open-plan living area. Both bedrooms have large windows facing the courtyard and are each furnished with two standard single beds. A baby cot is also available.

The open layout creates a spacious and airy atmosphere. The living, dining and kitchen areas flow into one another and offer plenty of room for spending time together. From the windows, you can enjoy views over the courtyard and the peaceful surroundings.

There is deliberately no television and no Wi-Fi on the Gård. Instead, guests can enjoy a radio, books and board games. Here, the focus is on spending time together, being outdoors and enjoying the special atmosphere of life on the farm.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. Facilities include a fridge-freezer, hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.

The spacious bathroom offers plenty of room and has a shower. A private washing machine is available in the apartment. A shared tumble dryer can also be used.

The apartment is also well prepared for families with younger children. In addition to the baby cot, a high chair is available, and there are many play opportunities around the farm.

On the east side of the loft, there is a private veranda. It is a lovely place to sit outside in the morning, start the day at a relaxed pace and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the courtyard.

The shared outdoor areas of the Gård also offer plenty of space for relaxing and playing. Guests can use the garden, lawn, garden furniture, sun loungers and hammocks. A gas barbecue and barbecue area are also available.

One of the special features of the property is its tree houses. One of them even contains a sauna, which is available to guests for a small fee. It is an unusual and relaxing place to unwind after a day at the beach or an excursion around Öland.

One of Öland’s beautiful sandy beaches is only around 1.5 kilometres from the Gård and can easily be reached by bicycle or car. Bicycles can be rented directly on the farm and are a great way to explore Köpingsvik and the surrounding area.

There is also a farm shop directly on the Gård. The farm is German-speaking, so families have German-speaking hosts available on site during their stay.

The location is also ideal for exploring Öland. Borgholm is only a few kilometres away. Borgholm Castle, Solliden Palace and the Himmelsberga open-air museum are all within easy reach. Other popular destinations on Öland include the sandy beaches of Böda, Trollskogen in the north, the sea stacks of Byrum and the UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Stora Alvaret.

One pet is welcome in the apartment. The loft is a non-smoking property. A charging point for electric vehicles is available on the premises.

The loft can only be booked from Saturday to Saturday. This means that many families spend their holiday week on the Gård at the same time. Children quickly find playmates, families get to know each other and a relaxed holiday community develops on the farm.

Electricity is included. Final cleaning is taken care of. Bed linen and towel packages can be booked optionally.

Loft 2 is therefore a particularly good choice for families who want to combine plenty of space and peace with a genuine farm experience on Öland. Two bedrooms, a spacious open-plan living area, a private veranda and, above all, animals, play opportunities, proximity to the beach and the special community on the Gård create excellent conditions for a varied family holiday.Read less
